A person is charged with Resisting Arrest when he/she intentionally prevents or attempts to prevent law enforcement from effecting an arrest by using or threatening physical force against the officer or another. A person can also be charged with Resisting Arrest when his/her conduct creates a substantial risk of causing physical injury to the officer or another. Resisting Arrest is a Class 6 Felony.
